Urmia Lake Continues to Worsen Every Day
The Urmia Lake of South Azerbaijan is getting worse every day.
This was reported to Yedulla Azerhavan, president of the Secretariat of the Ponds in East Azerbaijan.
“The current water level in Urmu Lake this year (the new year in Iran starts on March 21) fell by 21 centimeters compared to the same period last year. At the moment, the water level is 1270.76 meters, which was measured as 1270.97 meters in the same period last year. ”
According to Azerbaijani, the proportion of water together with the water basin in the lake is also reduced.
According to the government official, the water balance in Urmia Lake has decreased so much that there is more rainfall in the region than last year. This proves contrary to all previous claims of state officials. The smallest change in the precipitation of Urmia region has been reported by the authorities, this time inaccurate information about the water level in the lake. Undoubtedly, this misrepresentation is intended to mislead the public.
