The Iranian regime has canceled the seminar on “Mother Language in Humanity Dialogue”. On February 21, International Mother Language Day, group of Ph.D. students with university teachers planned to organize a language and identity workshop of nations living in Iran, however it will not be possible. Famous Azerbaijani national-cultural activist and writer Hasan Rashidi reported this in Telegram channel. The Azerbaijani activist said that the seminar was canceled on Wednesday and could be done at other times. Organizers of the seminar planned to hold this event in the Wisdom Hall of the Center of Cultural Studies and Humanities Research; Social Research Center, Cultural Research and Humanities Research Center and Iran Sociological Society. The Iranian regime repeatedly obstructed the organization of such seminars and severely punished cultural activists who participated in those event. In recent years, the International Mother Language Day ceremonies organized by Southern Azerbaijan have been attacked by the security forces, and many Azerbaijani national cultural activists have been taken into custody and some of them already got imprisonment sentences.
