Araz News: Thousands of young South Azerbaijani shot slogan to demand Turkic language teaching in schools of South Azerbaijan during the Volleyball match between Amol and Urmia municipalities  at Urmia city  on Sunday 19 Feb.

South Azerbaijani youth always uses every opportunity to make demands and one of these opportunities is sports stadiums.

It should be noted that, the regime has repeatedly tried to prevent young people’s national activities in sport stadiums, however, it has not been successful.

The most popular example of political and National activites  has seen between Tractor-Sazi soccer fans. This high level of support for Tractor is conditioned by the politicization of the team’s fans, who articulate their demands for the institution of instruction and television broadcasting in their native Azerbaijani language at almost every game. Unprecedented in Iran

The crowds of tens of thousands of fans also shout Turkic slogans and use Turkic symbolism, such as, “Tabriz, Baku, Ankara, our path leads in a different direction from the path of the Persians,”, “All people have the right to study in their own language,” “Down with Persian fascism,” “Long live free Azerbaijan,” “To hell with those who don’t like us,” “We’re proud to be Turks,” etc.
