In Tabriz city of South Azerbaijan truck drivers have begun ta protest because their demands are not met.

Drivers object to the cost of automobile spare parts, especially the price of wheels and petrol, the non-payment of insurance premiums and the low cost of cargo services.

Similar actions have been reported in several cities outside Tabriz. The news agencies reported to have video and images of the protests in Refsancan, Kezvin, Bushehr, Shiraz, Kirmanşah, Isfahan, Tehran and others cities.

Truck drivers have launched protests in 160 cities and provinces of Iran on May 22nd.

The International Transport Federation as a representative of 19 million workers in the area of transportation has supported the protesters in Iran. The Federation said drivers in Iran are suffering from inflation and price increases, and that their incomes are low.

The North American Cargo Truck Drivers Association also sent a letter to the US ambassador to Iran to support the protesters.
