Supporters of the Tractor football team condemned the events surrounding “Heyran Gateway” and demanded it to remain in Astara in the province of Erdebil. On Saturday, the Sepahan and Tractor teams match was held in Tebriz’s Sehend Stadium and ended with 1:1 score. The fans of the tractor repeatedly expressed slogans supporting the territorial integrity of South Azerbaijan. The fans told the famous song “Come sister, come brother, lets be united, may this land not be devided”. In recent days, the demands of the Governorate to merger of Erdebil’s “Heyran Gateway” lands with the Gilan province, resulted in a large public protest of the South Azerbaijani people. Many of our citizens, including the Astara population, want to see the Astara settlement South Azerbaijan within the boundaries of Erdebil. Protestors claims against the territorial division of Azerbaijan are also highly expressed in the virtual world.
