Araz News:  On the occasion of the 21 February International Mother language, the Azerbaijan national activists living in the USA have protested against assimilation policies, discrimination and racism of the Iranian regime against the Turks who living in Iran geography.

The protest began at 12:00 o’clock EDT America. As usual in recent years, national activists who are Washington residents announced their protest against assimilation policies, discrimination and racism of the Iranian regime against the Turks nations and banning mother language of millions of Turks in South Azerbaijan and other parts of Iran.

It should be noted that, in 1945, Iranian Azerbaijanis founded the independent South Azerbaijan People’s Government, which existed for only one year under the leadership of Sayyed Jafar Pishevari, with Tabriz as its capital. In that time, South Azerbaijan people had the right of education in their mother tongue.

South Azerbaijan people are struggling with the Iranian regime as they have been denied their ethnic rights granted in Articles 15 and 19 of the Iranian constitution, which provides for the equal treatment of all ethnic groups and freedom to use their mother tongue in media and education.
