Every year, gathering under the name of a religious ceremony for the Armenians of the world has become a habit in the Kara Church of the western Azerbaijan province of Çaldıran.

The head of the Department of Tourism, Handicrafts and Cultural Heritage of West Azerbaijan, Calil Cabbari, told journalists that Armenians will meet at the Kara Church between 12-14 July.

“Those gathered in the church will perform various religious ceremonies for three days. This year there were more opportunities for participants and various services were organized. Mobile Medical Center, fire fighting equipment and food sales centers, as well as health and rescue teams, special attention to the provision of drinking water and electricity, high level of security for participants, etc.”

Cabari also added that more than 100 people work in the region to provide attendance services.

The chief of the Tourism, Handicrafts and Cultural Heritage Department of West Azerbaijan said that this year’s 64th annual ceremony will be held at Kara Church.

The government official did not give any information about the authority of the ceremony. However, in recent years it has been announced that the ceremony was organized with official permission of the Iranian security institutions in coordination with the Armenian Church, the Iranian Cultural Heritage Organization and the Islamic Renaissance and Cultural Office.

Let us note that the Armenians have the rights of all national and religious minorities living in Iran. However, according to article 15 of the Iranian Constitution, these rights apply to all national minorities. Armenians can easily learn in Iran at their own schools, and can perform religious ceremonies at the right time and place.

In this case, the Armenians in the Kara Church can not pass a censure on the demands of the national civil laws of our compatriots in Azerbaijani territories or any measures related to Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijani activists making the smallest steps in this area are immediately punished by the Iranian regime.

The Iranian regime’s clash between Azerbaijan and Armenia clearly demonstrates its position against Armenia and Turks.
