The crisis in Urmu Lake in South Azerbaijan deepens day by day.

Information on this issue was reported by the press service of the Water Research Center.

“Urmu Lake’s current level of water (the new year in Iran starting March 21st), fell 6 centimeters lower than the same period last year,”.

According to the latest statistical information, Urmu Lake area decreased by 68 square kilometers and water volume by 0.14 billion cubic meters.

According to the estimates of the first days of the current year, the water level in the lake should reach at least 1272 meters in parallel to the exit from the crisis.
