Araz News: State News Agency ISNA reports “HONOUR OF PERSIA” is determined as Iran’s slogan in World Cup 2014.

The slogan HONOUR OF PERSIA directly refers to ethnic Persians of Iran. This slogan has disappointed non-Persian communities of Iran because the slogan excludes them. Many non-Persian community members think this slogan is racist and does not represent them.

Such a racist slogan is against friendship and peace sprit of the World Cup games.

Nearly 55% percent of Iran’s population consists of non-Persian communities such as Azerbaijani Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens and Balochs.

It is near nine decades that non-Persian peoples in Iran are exposed to governmental ethnic and racial discrimination. Civil struggle of them for communal rights has been harshly suppressed by Iranian regimes of Pahlavi monarchy and Islamic Republic.
