Persian Deputy Supports Racist Minister
Tehran deputy Mustafa Kavakebyan, speaking in parliament on Wednesday, claimed that the words of the Minister of Education were misunderstood among the people and tried to dispute.
The deputy, known as the so-called reformist, said, “According to the Constitution, the common alphabet and language is Persian.” All documents and textbooks should also be on this dossier, but local languages, for example, can be used in the media. That’s why the minister’s words about Persian language courses are correct. ”
M. Kavakebyan added, “Teaching local languages in schools and people speaking Turkish, Kurdish and Lorca do not create any problems.”
Tehran’s parliamentarians paid particular attention to the fact that the minister of education described it as a misunderstanding against racist rhetoric.
On July 14, Iranian Education Minister Mohammad Bethayi said that Persian education was a “red line” for schools, saying that it is dangerous and prohibited for students to study in non-Iranian languages. This expression of the minister was met with broad protest of the Azerbaijani Turks.
