Response from the Urmiye MP to the Qanun Newspaper

Urmiye’s parliamentary deputy, Nadir Gazipur, has strongly criticized the newspaper, Qanun, that published an article against Turkish language.
Erdebil’s parliamentary deputy Südiyif Bedri published an article on the mother tongue on the May 18, on the issue of the law on Education mother tongue that received parliamentary signatures.
In a paper entitled “Investigation of the Abbys of the People”, it was stated that the teaching on the mother tongue in Iran was described as a factor against the security of the country and did not comply with Article 15 of the Constitution.

After such an article was published in a known anti-Azerbaijani newspaper, Nadir Gazipur sent a letter to Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Affairs and demanded immediate action against the Qanun Newspaper. “This newspaper does not reflect the reality of publishing writings othen mother tongue of the Turks and the members of the Turkish society. For this reason, the newspaper should take precautions. ”

The article also points out that parliamentarians have taken an initiative to vote in their territories. Qanun magazine called the deputy of the Grand National Party, Südiyif Bedri, as one of the lawmakers who did not know the law.

The article noted that pantürkists wanted education on their Mother tongue. “They are trying to get a political dividend by taking advantage of education in their mother tongue. ”

Qanun magazine showed intolerance even to the book “Mother tongue”, which Mahamadzza Karim received in exchange with Zanjan Education Department. It stated that the well-known researcher allegedly not related to the Department of Education when he was writing the book, and that the book was written by panturkists.
The law newspaper had a similar attitude towards Azerbaijani and Turkish activists. In an article published last year, the removal of languages other than Persian in the newspaper was assessed as a requirement of Iran’s general and national policy. The newspaper praised the destruction of the Turkish language in Iran and stated, “Do not be afraid that a child in Urmiya or another city knows Persian.” “On the contrary, if the children of these lands speak Persian, it must mean that national politics has given them fruit. ”
