The Iranian Football Federation’s Steering Committee did not apply any penal sanctions for the supporters of Tehran’s Istiklal and Perspolis teams on the treatment of insulting the Turks. As was reported, on March 1, “Economic” and “Perspolis” teams met in Tehran’s Azadi stadium, and slogans of “Death to Turkey,” have been repeatedly thrown. On the 25th week of the Super League competition, the Football Federation’s Board of Director made a decision which was published on the official federation website. In the decision of the administrative committee, there was no word about grave slogans against the Turkish nation, nor even warning against racialism. It is stated that only Istiklal and Perspolis supporters are throwing rocks and explosives and paying 100 million Rials to both teams. This shows the obvious enmity of the Football Federation against the Turkish nation and encourages Persian racists to insult the Turks again. According to the federation law, team supporters are prohibited from watching matches in the stadium for at least two years in case of racist slogans. In addition, the Football Federation must translate slogans and send them to FIFA. However, no decision has been made on these matters.
