Araz News: Rouhollah Hazratpour the representative of Azerbaijan people in Iran’s Parliament in an interview with the local media on June 5, 2017 sated,” according to recent statistics which shows Lake Urmia totally differ from what the inhabitants experience in the largest desertification center of the country.”

The PM expressed his concerned about the consequence of drying the Urmia Lake. He noted that if the lake drying with this speed we will face with trouble environmental crisis in upcoming years. Consequently, more than 12 million people’s lives will be in danger.

At the end of his speech, he mentioned to the recent statistic of government about the water level of the Lake. He noted, “The officials talk about the water conversion control and the 7-cm natural reduction of the water level in the summer season while the summer season has just started in the area and the water level of the lake is 20 cm evaporated. Be sure, the water level will fall by 50 cm in late August. ”

Rouhollah Hazratpour  asks the authorities before being late  and Urmia  lake becoming  a security crisis for the regime, save lake Urmia to prevent further damage to the environment.
