Peaceful Protest against Persian Racism Turned Violence in The Cities of Urmia and Tabriz

Araz News: Yesterday, 26th of July, peaceful demonstration of South Azerbaijan people against Persian racism was stopped and face with violent by Iran regime’s riot police in Tabriz and Urmia city.

A Frist wave of protests against Persian racism in objection to ‘Tarh No ‘newspaper was held in Urmia city. Iran regime special force assaulted demonstrators with batons and many South Azerbaıjani people were arrested during protest. The following day, Tabriz city stands up against Persian racism and many of south Azerbaijani people exposed to Iran regime’s riot police violence and so many people arrested. Special Forces are in full guard to suppress such protests.

It should be noted that security forces have blocked main streets and squires in main cities including Tabriz, Ardebil, Urmia and Sulduz. Reportedly many arrested have been made to prevent massive demonstrations.

Turkic Parliamentarians, including the Members of Parliament in Tabriz, Urmia and the other Azerbaijani communities uttered anger in Iran’s Parliament, calling the government to put an end to the continues hate speech against the Turks which has turned into a norm in Iranian society suffering from a chronic Turk – phobia.

South Azerbaijan National movement activist invited all Turks people to protest in the wake gender and racial insults of Iran racism newspaper “TARH NO “.

On July 28.2016, at 7 pm peaceful demonstrations will be take place in all cities and provincial capitals of Iran. Address and locations are as follows:

  • Astara city: the square of Namaz
  • Urmia city: The Imam street toward Iyalat
  • Ardabil city: Shariati square towards Bazar
  • Tabriz city: Rasta kuche
  • Zanjan city: Sabze Meydan
  • Tehran city: Toopkhaneh Square
  • Other centers of cities
