Araz News: Leonardo DiCaprio well-known Hollywood actor shared a photograph of the Lake Urmia in his Instagram page and expressed his concern about the process of drying the lake Urmia on 5^th of May. He demanded world attention to the issue of global climate change and drying lake Urmia.

Actor in a leading role in many movies and Oscar winner for Best Actor in 2016 In explaining of the photo shared in his Instagram expressed that a dilapidated ship dock remains on dried up Lake Urmia in northwestern Iran. It used to be the biggest Salt Lake in the Middle East, but it now contains five percent of the amount of water it did two decades ago due to climate change, dam construction and decrease in precipitation.

Shared photo of the Lake of by DiCaprio welcomed thousands of users on social network and many comments and opinion can be seen in many language Turkish, Farsi and English under the photo.

Gary Lewis, a representative of the United Nations commended DiCaprio Instagram posts. And he said:” tanks Leo DiCaprio for drawing attention of the world to Lake Urmia. All hand count. Keep up the great work.”
