Turkish Foreign Ministry denies information about to abolish visas for 89 countries
Araz News:Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu (The Turkish Foreign Ministry) denied on Saturday a news report that Ankara is preparing to introduce visas for citizens of 89 countries which currently enjoy visa-free travel to Turkey.
He stated that the Reports in the media that our country will start implementing visa requirements for 89 countries as of June 1 do not reflect the truth.
The report which published many news service on Friday 8th of Jan, said Turkey would abolish the current visa with 89 countries and Including Iran and Russia among the countries as of June 1 to harmonize its visa policies with those of the EU as part of a deal between Ankara and the European Union to curb illegal immigration through Turkey to Europe, however , its denied by The Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Turkey has also lifted visa requirements for citizens of a number of countries to promote business ties and tourism.
