Iran was given time untill November 2019

In a written statement made by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a warning was given to Iran in July and a promised action plan was put into effect.

According to the statement, from today until February 2019, we are waiting for Iranian law to comply with FATF norms, ”said the statement, new sanctions on this country were forwarded to prevent the financing of money laundering and terrorism.

The Iranian government has made a number of changes to the reforms demanded by the FATF.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a speech he made last month, arguing that the draft law on the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing, known as the FATF law, should be approved in the parliament.

President Hassan Rouhani’s government has prepared a draft law on the membership of FATF and presented it to the parliament because of the restrictions imposed on Iran.

Founded in Paris in 1989 and headquartered in France, the FATF oversees banking and financial systems with its 37 members, consisting of 35 countries, the European Commission and the Gulf Arab Cooperation Council.
