Yusif Benitorof, a nationalist member of the Arab nation in Iran, said he has been supporting recently detained Azerbaijani national-cultural activists.

On the eve of Babek Castle march on 4 July, Benitorof issued a statement on national activists detained in South Azerbaijan.

“Greetings to Lisani and his Azerbaijani colleagues;

I never saw Abbas Lisani. However, when he was killed in the events of the Arab League in 2005, I heard strong voice condolences. Then I started to get interested in the struggle for his nation’s rights.

Abbas and dozens of other Azerbaijani activists have been arrested. He was arrested and his brothers were killed in the streets. The dehydrated Arab Mehmere and Ibadan are kept on fire, chained in prison. Baluch and the Kurds are always waiting to be executed. Other leading Arab activists strongly criticized politics against Azerbaijan in the Iranian regime, supporting Azerbaijani activists in detention.
