Southern Azerbaijani national activists David Turana book, ‘To be a Turk, or Turkic’ was published in Turkey.

This book was published by the Association of Civilizations, Culture and Social Enlightenment “Hazar”.

Davut Turan was born in Hoy, South Azerbaijan.

Turan studied sociology in Zengan city of South Azerbaijan. When he was a student he published a university journal called Şehriyar.

He has a master’s degree in Sociology at Hacettepe University, Ankara. He worked as Turkey’s specialist in strategic research centers.

In 2011-2015 he was made the spokesman of Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization.

The book was written in Arabic alphabet in Azerbaijani Turkic. In the book, the theoretical problems in South Azerbaijan and the national movement have been critically treated.
