Maltepe Municipality in Istanbul made a nice gesture to the friendly country by giving the name of Azerbaijan to a new park constructed in Maltepe District in order to consolidate the fraternity between the two countries due to anniversary of Azerbaijan establishment.

The park established in Maltepe by Maltepe Municipal Council was named “100th Year Park of Azerbaijan People’s Republic”. The opening of the “100th Year Park of Azerbaijan People’s Republic” took place in Maltepe with the participation of important guests:
Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç, Azerbaijan People’s Republic of Turkey Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim, the Diaspora representatives of Azerbaijan, Minister of State Responsible Assistant Valeh Hajiyev, Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador Hazar Ibrahim, Azerbaijani MPs Adil Aliyev, Moses Gasıml and Giresun attended the University Rector Aygun Attar.

Before the opening of the park, the national anthems of the two countries were read, and then the ribbon was cut by Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç, Minister of State Responsible for Diaspora of Azerbaijan Republic Valeh Hajiyev and Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ankara Ankara Caspian Ibrahim.

Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç, who signed a project that strengthens the friendship and brotherhood of the two countries, said, “Today we have opened the Azerbaijan Republican Park in Maltepe. We want to reflect not only the opening of a park but also the emotions of the Azerbaijani people through our painters and sculptors. We want to introduce Azerbaijan to Maltepe people. Due to the anniversary of the foundation of the Republic, we opened the park. From here I offer my respects to all Azerbaijani brothers and sisters.”

Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador to Ankara Hazar Ibrahim said, “A very beautiful park reminds us of Baku’s Mountain-top Park. We see the park as a remember to each other. And in the history of Baku, our Turkish brothers helped Azerbaijan 100 years ago. Today our brotherhood continues. This kind of work will further strengthen our friendship. ”
