South Azerbaijan -Khoy city trembled 25 times in eight hours
Araz News : An earthquake happened in the South Azerbaijan Khoy city and its surroundings, Tehran University Geophysics Institute reported on Wednesday afternoon at 9:26:58 PM on 22nd of June 2016.
The quake was the strongest earthquake in eight hours in the city.
According to the Tehran University Geophysics Institute report, the earthquake measured in magnitude of 4. 5 Richter and at a depth of four kilometers underground and the geographical coordinates 38. 496 degrees latitude and 44. 857 degrees longitude and happened in the west part of the Khoy in “VAR” village.
According to the reports from the city of Khoy, the occurrence of this earthquake was caused fear and panic among the people of the region and people lived outdoors and many people slept in the open air.
The casualties or damage of the earthquake has not been reported so far.
According to the officials Crisis Management Headquarters of Khoy city, heavy rainfall and landslides caused frequent earthquakes in the region.
