Iran Ethnic problems was discussed in the US
Araz News: A Conference about the problems of ethnic and religious minorities in Iran was held in US National Press Center –Washington on 15th of June 2016.
The conference was held with the cooperation of ‘The Ahwaz Human Rights Organization ” and “Ibn Khaldun Studies and Development Center “.
US senior politicians, US journalists, South Azerbaijani Turks representatives and members of other ethnic minorities in Iran was attended at the conference.
Mr. Hebib Azersina was invited as South Azerbaijani Turks representatives. He mentioned that South Azerbaijani people have exposed to the Persian racism and he sated that the Azerbaijani people is derisively referred to as a “Tork-e-Khar,” or Turkish donkey, by the less refined members of the Persian community. He also talked about the development of South Azerbaijan national movement during the history.
In other parts of the program, Mr. Muhammed Hassan Hüseyinber the Iranian Sunni representatives, Dr. Karim Abdiyan Beni Se’it the head of the Arab Human Rights Organization in Iran, Mr. Sa’dettin İbrahim the Ibn Khaldun Development Research Center president, Dr. Shirin Ebadi the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Ms. Ava Huma the Iranian Kurdish representatives, Ms Hayide Sahim the Representatives of the Iranian Jews and women activists Ms. Mehrengiz Kar and Ms. Antoni Wans the president of the Baha’i Community in USA and Mr. Jo Stock the Middle East and North Africa director at HRW was present at the conference and explained the problems of ethnics and religion in Iran. They also condemned racial politics of Iranian central government against ethnic and religious minorities.
