Araz News: Recently most popular facebook fan page of Kurdish politician of Turkey, Mr Sirri Sureyya Onder who is a member of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and a parliament member published an article related to Lake Urmia that was calling those parts of South Azerbaijan as east Kurdistan.

Therefore many South Azerbaijani activists wrote massages to that page protesting the misinformation. But surprisingly administrator of the page replied the activists in a very rude and inelegant way, insulting the objectors and Azerbaijani Turks.

The case was reflected in Azerbaijani media and drew reaction in social media.

Upon the developments, First Secretary of National Resistance Organization of Azerbaijan (ANRO) Mr. Davud Turan wrote an objection letter to Kurdish politicians of Turkey, including HDP’s co-chairs, parliament members Mrs. Sebahat Tuncel and Mr. Ertugrul Kurkcu and the parliament member Mr. Sirri Sureyya Onder. In the letter it is emphasized that such a misinformation and inelegant attitude may damage the friendship relation between two peoples and that Azerbaijani Turks are waiting for official apologize.

Not that, Kurdish nationalists claim vast parts of historical territory of Azerbaijan as Kurdistan while these part are dominantly inhabited by Azerbaijani Turks.

In the past other Kurdish politicians from Turkey and Iraq sounded the same claims.
