In Iran, Kurdish language and literature now offered at the University of Sanandaj
Araz News: Sanandaj University for the academic year 2015-2016 accepts 40 students in the Kurdish language and literature.
Booklet of major selection has a key difference from previous years, means an Iran education system gives an opportunity for students who have an interest in the Kurdish language and literature. It seems good news for the Kurds living in Iran.
The news not only for the Kurds but also for many others, especially Azerbaijani people are satisfactory.
However, there isn’t any Turkish Language and Literature field in any of the South Azerbaijan universities in this Booklet.
Non Persians who lives in Iran protest to recognize exclusively Persian language in Iran. This is the fact that a Turkish population, which is more than 30 million lives in Iran; but, their turkish identity is denied by Iranian government and their language is banned, and “Azeri” word, which is made up, is used for these Turkish people. This is completely incompatible with Article 15 of the Islamic Republic of Iran constitution.
Article 15 [Official Language]
The Official Language and script of Iran, the lingua Franca of its people, is Persian. Official documents, correspondence, and texts, as well as textbooks, must be in this language and script. However, the use of regional and tribal languages in the press and mass media, as well as for teaching of their literature in schools, is allowed in addition to Persian.
Iranian president Mr. Rouhani during his election campaign Promised full implementation of Article 15 of the constitution and establishing the Academy of Turkish language for people of South Azerbaijan. However. None of them has not acted so far today. This caused dissatisfaction for the people of South Azerbaijan.
