Araz News:on July 1, Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization’s (ANRO) publishing arm released newsletters and posters  in memory of the martyrs of Asghar Abad  village which  resisted heroically  against invasion of Armenian in 1918.

It should be mentioned that West Azerbaijan region has witnessed  massacres and rob of the Turks people. Mass murder of Asghar Abad  village in Urmia  is also one of the unfortunate experiences of the West Azerbaijan.

Armenian crimes were not limited to north, Azerbaijan and it happened in South Azerbaijan in the beginning of the last century in more tragically form. It is a pity that these crimes were in the same time with falling statehood in South Azerbaijan and beginning Persian authority. That is why these frightful crimes have not been on the agenda.

Armenian nets and their partners killed more than 130.000 South Azerbaijanis  in the Urmia region  in February-June, 1918.

During I. World War Urmia, Salmas and Khoy regions of South Azerbaijan, boundary by Ottoman were undergone to the frightful attack of Armenians and Assyrians who were in the dreamer of to make Christian state in the land which didn’t concern to them. Russian army gave its weapons to the Armenians when leaved war in 1917. So, the Armenians and their partners possessed of heavy weapons had created the great army by help Englishs, head missioner and the general counsel of America in Urmia –Dc. Shed and initiated a frightful genocide against Turks in Urmia for taking possession of Urmia and Salmas regions of South Azerbaijan. And after, they had demanded the capitulation of the city during 24 hours. So, they had taken possession Urmia and Salmas cities by slaughter.

12.000 families run from Ottoman, 20.000 local Armenian-Assyrian families and 5000 Armenians from Yerevan tried to create the false state by help the 20.000 persons experienced, purchasing army, under order 800 Russians and 72 Frenches officers, Russian general Consul Nikitin, the general consul of USA- Dc. Shed and secretly Frenches-English political support at the expense of shedding blood of sinless local people.

The Armenians kept the region under themselves control at the expense of killing 130.00 South Azerbaijani Turks from February till June, 1918. Their purpose was to settle in the region, which was left by the Russians, to prevent Ottoman unities to advance in this region and to create an independent state by the help of the big states. But, on June, 1918, Ottoman army got back these regions from Armenians, stopped the slaughter of the local Azerbaijani Turks by Armenians and broke the frightful dreamers of the Armenians.

Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization’s (ANRO) as one of  the active Organization of   South Azerbaijan   by, Widespread publishing and  distributing newsletters and posters with the name of” Asghar Abad is  a symbol of resistance to genocide” wanted to keep this memory alive and unforgettable.
