Araz News: South Azerbaijani political prisoner Yurush Mehr-Ali bayli is released from Jolfa prison for 5 days furlough after about 18 months imprisonment.

Mehr- Ali bayil was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment on charges of forming an illegal group (Yeni Gamoh) [ New South Azerbaijan Awaking Movement ] and another 1 year for propaganda against regime.

Ayat ( Yurush) Mehr-Ali Beyli as well as four other men were arrested between January and March 2013. Mahmoud Fazli, Behboud Gholizadeh, Shahram Radmehr, Ayat (Yurush) Mehr-Ali beyli and Latif Hasani, all Azerbaijani and members of Yeni Gamoh’s Central Council, an Iran-based Azerbaijani (Turkic) cultural and political rights advocacy organization, were sentenced to nine-year prison terms in April 2013.
