Araz News: A young Ahwazi Arab named Nader Sharifi-Fard was detained and later murdered during his detention by the occupying security forces in Abadan city of Al-Ahwaz region, according to local reports.  Reliable Sources say that the young man was brutally tortured to death in the custody of the regime’s security forces.

News of the young man’s torture and death circulated extensively on social media and virtual networks among the Arab people of Al-Ahwaz, and in order to defend the occupying regime security forces the   Police Chief in Abadan, Col. Mohsen Taghizadeh, rushed to the scene to justify the brutal killing of the young boy.

According to the state-run Axin Press on June 15 the Chief of Police of Abadan stated “a young man named Nader Sharifi-Fard was called for interrogation, and the police dealt with his case according to their inherent and legal duty.” Moreover, Taghizadeh stated that “if the officers have shortcomings, we will surely deal with them, but so far there is no indication that the police tortured him.”

The local head of the regime’s suppressive police force ordered mass arrests following the disclosure of the young man’s death in Abadan and stated that “people who have released this news and claimed that the police have tortured Nader Sharifi-Fard will be prosecuted by the Iranian Cyber Police and the Abadan Police Legal Department for causing public unrest and spreading lies and tarnishing the image of the police.”

Ahwazi Arab people are subjected to systematic prejudice and persecution by the Persian chauvinist Tehran regime for years amid the silence of international community. Iran is a racist state, with a covert agenda for the ethnic cleansing of the Ahwazi Arab people. Tehran’s land seizures, forced population relocations, massacres, arrests, jailings, tortures and executions of Ahwazi Arabs are crimes against humanity under international law.

 Despite living in the richest region in oil, the Ahwazi Arab people are victims of a cruel, deliberate impoverishment by the Iranian regime, with half the population living in gross poverty and 80 percent of children suffering from malnutrition.
