Araz News: Ashura is a day of great historical significance.The Caucasian Muslims Board (CMO) and Health Ministry jointly launched a campaign of voluntary blood donation to help people suffering from hereditary blood diseases. The action is being held in 14 mosques in North Azerbaijan.

CMO Gazi Council gave  fatwa about the Ashura rituals which  can be performed at mosques and in other places of worship as well as special places designated by concerned executive authorities, and that public safety rules must be observed.

According to the statistical report of blood donors people who donated blood  in Ashura day  has increased  this year compared to last year.So that last year the number of blood donors in Northern Azerbaijan  were4670 persons.It is noteworthy that  more than 500 liters of blood were collected compare to last year .

Marching in areas other than places of worship can only taken place after the permission of concerned state bodies. At gatherings of mourning, sermons honoring the martyrs of Karbala should be given and those martyred for our Motherland should be commemorated. Public order must be maintained during the mourning. Chest-beating and cutting the body with knives or chains are not of Shariah and are condemned. The mourners should not cause injury to themselves or others.
