Two More Azerbaijani Prisoners Join Ongoing Hunger Strike
Araz News: Two more South Azerbaijani Political prisoners join ongoing hunger strike.
Oyrenci Sesi (Voice of Student) website reports Asadollah Asadi and Esmail Barzgari have begun hunger strike to protest inhuman harsh raid of the Ward 350 of Evin Prison.
Previously Azerbaijani political prisoner said Matinpur and his wife Atiye Taheri had begun hunger strike for the same aim.
Before opposition sources reported Ward 350 of Evin Prison in Tehran, which is known as ward of the political prisoners, was raided by prison guardians and plain clothes agents on 17thApril. Reportedly the raid is the harshest in the last two decades. Many prisoners are beaten hardly by sticks, many are wounded and some are transferred to solitary confinement. At least four prisoners were transfer to hospital because of bleeding and bone fractures and thirty two prisoners were taken to solitary confinement.
Currently more than 25 political prisoners are in hunger strike in Evin prison. On the other hand some family members who gathered in front of presidential office were beaten by security forces. More family members have threatened to begin hunger strike while Said Mastinpour’s wife is in hunger strike.
Meanwhile, in Central Prison of Tabriz two South Azerbaijani political prisoner Ayat Mehralibeiglou and Arash Mohammadi are in 10th day of hunger strike. They began hunger strike on April 15 writting a letter from prison.
