Iranian Revolutionary Guard (Sepah) trains Basij militia forces against South Azerbaijani right activists.
Reportedly, Al-Ghadir battalion of the Revolutionary Guard based in Tabriz, the central city of South Azerbaijan, has held a training session in Bab-Al-Havaej mosque in Tabriz on 7th March 2014. Colonel Ahmad Zadeh made speech in the session. About 100 member of Basij militia force took part in the training.
Colonel Ahmad Zadeh stated that, in his words, “Panturkists” are a danger and who sounds slogans as “School in Turkish Language” or “Azerbaijan should union, Tabriz should be capital” is traitor and spy of Republic of Azerbaijan. He also said it is 1000 years that Farsi is Iran’s official language and no one in Azerbaijan likes to educate in his/her mother tongue. He demanded Basij members to confront Azerbaijani activists as strong as the Basij members of revolution years. He added that disobeying Ayetullah Khameneyi’s orders is disobeying orders of Emam-E-Zaman (a nephew of holy Mohammad who is Allah’s representative on the earth according to Shiite belief).
Revolutionary Guard (Sepah) is a military force that was founded to protect the Islamic revolution in Iran. Nowadays Revolutionary Guard, besides its growing military force, has become a key political and economical force in Iran. It is the main body that supreme religious leader Ayetullah Khameneyi relays on that. Revolutionary Guard defends a fanatic interpretation of Shiite Islam with no commitment to human rights and democratic values.
