Said Hosseini freed from prison
Tebriz Sesi (Voice of Tabriz) web site reports South Azerbaijani civil activist Said Hosseini has been freed from prison in Meshkin Shahr city of Eastern Azerbaijan province on 13th January 2015. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison being charged of “propaganda against regime”. Reportedly earlier he was dismissed from university and was tortured during detention.
Rasoul Razavi jailed
Tebriz Sesi web site also reports South Azerbaijani civil activist Rasoul Razavi has been detained on 14th January 2015 and transferred to central prison of Tabriz to serve the one year verdict he was sentenced earlier. He is charged of propaganda against regime, action against national security, cooperation with separatist panturkist groups and carrying placards in sport matches. In the recent years he was arrested by security forces many times and reportedly he was tortured physically and mentally.
Ali Lesani arrested
Ali Lesani son of veteran South Azerbaijani civil activist Abbas Lesani was arrested by security forces and interrogated for two hours. According to Oyrenci Sesi (Voice of Student) web site on 14th January 2015 Mr. Ali Lesani were arrested by police officers when he was going back to home from school and was taken to the 15th police station of Ardabil city.
Earlier other son of Mr. Abbas Lesani, Mehdi Lesani was summoned by intelligence services by telephone.
Last week security forces raided Mr. Abbas Lesani’s brother’s mourning ceremony.
In the recent months security forces increased pressure on Mr. Lesani’s family.
