Azerbaijan National Government Martyrs Commemorated
Araz News: In its 69th anniversary Azerbaijan National Government martyrs are commemorated in South Azerbaijan cities.
According to gunaz.tv website South Azerbaijani activists have gathered at tomb of Feridun Ebrahimi in Tabriz cemetery and commemorated martyrs of Azerbaijan National Government.
Feridun Ebrahimi was the prosecutor general of Azerbaijan National Government and was executed by Iranian army after the national government was fallen.
South Azerbaijani sources report similar events have taken place in other cities such as Tehran, Marand and Sayin Qala (Shahin Dezh).
Also other Informatory activities have been carried out in other South Azerbaijan cities.
Azerbaijan National Government was established on 12th December 1945, after II. WW was over. It was collapsed by Iranian army one year later on 12th December 1946.
Leading party of national government was Azerbaijan Democratic Party which was headed by Mr. Mir Jafar Pishevary.
Azerbaijan National Government was a close ally of Soviet Union while the Iranian government was backed by western alliance.
However the national government had a wide support near Azerbaijani people because it carried out many reformations related to Azerbaijani economy, politics, culture and social life.
Nowadays 12 December (21 Azar by Iranian calendar) is considered as a turn point of modern history of Azerbaijan and is remarked by Azerbaijani intellectuals and right activists.
