Common Turkic History and Literature Lessons will be given in Turkic Speaking State Schools

The Third Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Turkic Council is held in Baku.

The Third Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Turkic Council is held in Baku. Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov moderated the meeting where HE Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Aliya Galimova, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HE Kanat Sadykov, the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, HE Nabi Avcı, Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Darkhan Kydyrali, the President of the Turkic Academy, and Prof. Dr. Yekta Saraç, the President of the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Turkey, Secretary General of TÜRKPA and representative of TURKSOY were present.
At the meeting, decisions were taken on student exchange programmes at high school level, common textbooks on history and literature, establishment of the Science Council of the Turkic Academy and establishment of Union of Science Academies of the Turkic Speaking States among other issues. Moreover, the Directive of the Student Council of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union was approved.
Secretary General Hasanov stated that efforts in the education field were carried forward with concrete projects since the Bishkek Summit in 2012 which was held under the theme of cooperation in education, and thanked the esteemed Ministers and other participants for their contributions to the success of the meeting. Secretary General Hasanov emphasized that any effort spent in the field of education is an investment for the future as it will help bring our young generations closer and also strengthen their awareness of our common Turkic identity.
