Araz News: Revolutionary Guard (Sepah) Commander of Alborz province, “Ali Ostad Hosseini” said Dervishes, Bahaiis, Satanists and ethnical diversity are serious cultural threats for Alborz province, speaking in an interview with “Kamal Mehr” web site on 12nd November 2014. He told “a major problem of Alborz province is existence of all tribes and ethnics. There is not a social uniformity in the province. Unfortunately we see the same thing among the province authorities.”

Karaj city is center of Alborz province. The province is located at northwest of Tehran. The province has a multi-ethnical demography. Azerbaijani Turks consist about 60% of the province population.

Islamic Republic of Iran is founded on Persian Shiite ethnical and religious identities. The state does not recognize other identities and try to eliminate them while historically Iran is a multicultural, multilingual and multi-religious country.

Before establishing Pahlavi monarchy in 1925 the country were ruled with a federalism-like system for centuries and the official name of the country was “Protected Countries of Iran”.
