Araz News: Habib Shiri Azar member of city council of Tabriz, capital of East Azerbaijan province, has said some hidden hands prevent establishing Azerbaijani Turkish language institute. He added actualizing president’s promise about establishing Turkish institute is a demand of people of Azerbaijan.

Pointing to East Azerbaijan governor’s expression that some intellectuals! of Azerbaijan had applied for establishing a more comprehensive foundation instead of language institute, what the governor called “foundation of art and history of Azerbaijan”, he told : Some hidden hands prevent establishing Azerbaijani Turkish language institute but Azerbaijani people knows place of official language and other regional and ethnical languages in the 15^th and 19^th items of constitution.

He added: Some people say Turkish language institute weakens potion of official Farsi language. But this is a wrong opinion. We learned a cultural official have come Tabriz and have had negotiations with province authorities to prevent establishing Turkish language institute. Is this is true it is a shame on province authorities.

He also told: Government tries to put the important language question under the shadow of other unimportant issues. But it is not possible. Turkish is an important and major language of Islamic World and Iran and it is a major demand of not only Azerbaijani people but all Turkish-speaking people throughout Iran. Even the established Turkish language institute must not be a provincial but a general institute for all the country because there are Turkish-speaking people in almost all provinces of the country.
