Araz News:University of California professor and globally renowned mathematician Lotfi Zadeh was buried on 29 September in Baku in the city’s alley of honorary burial.

Lotfi Zadeh became well known after he developed the theory of Fuzzy Logic, which was considered revolutionary and is widely used around the world. This theory allowed many companies to succeed in technological endeavors.

Lotfi Aliaskerzadeh was born in Baku into a mixed Azerbaijani-Jewish family. From 1932 he lived in Iran, and in 1944 he moved to the USA where, under the name of Lotfi Zadeh, he began working at the University of California. He passed away on 6 September in the USA. The scientist dictated in his will that he desired to be buried in his historical homeland with Muslim rites.

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehtiyev participated in the farewell ceremony. Other state leaders, relatives and those close to him were also present,jam-news repoted.
