News Headlines:

Insulting the self-esteem and human dignity of the workers

Araz News: HL Glue Factory is not like other factory people have heard of. Rules and regulation in this chemical factory has been made by its executive members.

To start with, holding of the daily obligatory prayers in congregation is one of these rules. “Effective August 16, 2014, praying is compulsory for all men,” reads a banner in the factory’s chapel. “At a minimum, those who violate are subject to a fine of 120,000 “toman” [around $40], or they may be even fired.” Compulsory congregational prayer, however, is not the only odd rule at the factory. There are many others, including one to do with toilet breaks, and surveillance cameras are positioned around the factory to ensure workers follow these rules.

All discussions and exchanges on manufacturing plant telephones are recorded: “For quality control and to enhance our reaction, all telephone discussions are recorded. At regular intervals, discussions are randomly broadcast on factory’s loudspeakers, so be cautious in your discussion. The obligation lies with you.”

Workers are not permitted to bring large packs into the industrial facility. They can’t address each other while working. “To guarantee wellbeing and quality,” one control peruses, “representatives must hold their heads down. Taking a gander at your manager or group pioneers will be thought to be slack and apathetic, and will be managed in that capacity.”

The factory recently published a job ad, looking to hire 600 single women. The contract for these jobs points out that a female employee will lose her job the moment she marries: “Based on religious teachings and in order to strengthen family ties, the factory is not allowed to hire married women.”

The industrial facility as of late distributed an occupation advertisement, hoping to contract 600 single ladies. The agreement for these occupations calls attention to that a female representative will lose her employment the minute she weds: “In light of religious lessons and with a specific end goal to fortify family ties, the manufacturing plant is not permitted to contract wedded ladies.”
