Araz News: The Democratic Republic of North Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan: Azərbaycan Xalq Cümhuriyyəti / Azərbaycan Democratic Respublikası) is the first democratic and democratic republic in the Muslim world. ADR was founded on May 28, 1918, after the fall of the empire of Russia that began with the Revolution of Russia in 1917.

May 28 marks 99 years since the formation of the first in the East, secular democratic state – the North Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR). However, ADR and associated itself with Islam, which is reflected on the national flag of the republic, consisting of blue, red and green colors. Tricolor Turkic meant freedom, Islamic culture and modernity. ADR was the first Muslim country where women were enfranchised.

June 5 ADR government moved to Ganja.

The Government is making serious efforts for the recognition of the ADR world powers. The Azerbaijani delegation at the Paris Peace Conference was adopted by US President Woodrow Wilson. military agreement was signed with Georgia on possible joint actions in the case of the army of General Denikin advance to the Caucasus.

The North  Azerbaijan Democratic Republic ceased to exist April 28, 1920, accepted the ultimatum for the surrender of the North Azerbaijan Revolutionary Committee due to the inability to resist the 11th Red Army, which entered the territory of Azerbaijan.

All attempts ADR government to get support from external forces resulted in nothing, and won all the white and the formation of foreign forces, the Bolsheviks gradually gathered a large part of the Russian Empire into a single state. It is amazing that they were able to put under the gun for almost five million people and to resist this force had no chance.

On the other hand, the government requires people who are at the helm of government, unpopular and sometimes violent actions, especially in the period of chaos and destruction. Proclaiming the ideas of freedom, equality, human rights, Musavat could not act methods of the Bolsheviks, although that required time itself. Surprisingly, even after the events of March 1918, when the Dashnak forces performed ethnic cleansing, there were many persons of Armenian nationality in the Azerbaijani parliament. A government not led sufficiently effective fight against domestic Bolshevik forces, which then successfully seized power in April 1920. The creation of strong security forces had neither the time nor the energy.

The current Republic of North Azerbaijan – the successor to the ADR. a new generation of independent people has grown over 25 years. Power balance clearly between international forces.
