Apple has no official representative in Iran
Araz News: Apple has no official representative in Iran, said Iranian deputy industry, mining, and trade minister Mojtaba Khosrotaj,Trend news agency reported.
“Apple has no permission to open an official selling agency in Iran,” Iran ’s ISNA news agency quoted Khosrotaj as saying July 29.
Earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is in talks with Iranian distributors to potentially sell products in the country, after the US and five world powers signed a historic agreement with Iran on the country’s nuclear program.
Khosrotaj said that last year two or three requests were sent to the ministry of industry, mining, and trade, but it was revealed that the requests were not genuine and valid.
This isn’t the first time that Apple has thought about entering Iran. In 2014, WSJ reported that Apple was in touch with companies in Iran about launching there once sanctions are lifted. The Wall Street Journal said that senior Apple executives met with Iranian distributors in the company’s London office about a plan to launch Apple products in the country.
