Araz News: Iran will launch an air defense radar system with 1,000 kilometers range within the next few days, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said.
“A strategic radar system will be installed at one of the strategic points of the country within the next few days,” Iran’s Tasnim news agency quoted Esmaili as saying on July 19,Trend agency reported.
He did not unveil further details on the issue.
The number of flights per 24 hours over the Iranian sky has increased from 900 flights in the past 2-3 months to 1300 flights currently. This issue shows sustainable security of the Islamic Republic air zone, he said.
Esmaili said in March that the country’s airspace is the most secure in the Middle East.
