Iran proceed to drop new missile system
Araz News: On Thursday 16 July 2015, Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili, the commander of country’s Khatam ol-Anbiya air defense base said: “Iran will unveil new missile system, capable of confronting electronic warfare in the new future”.
The new missile system will join the country’s integrated air defense network by September, the commander said, Iran ’s State IRINN TV reported July 16.
Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili further said that new mid-range and long-range radar systems would be deployed by September as well to bolster the country’s air defense depth.
The new systems will cover main parts of the country’s south and southeast region, he added.
Trend Agency reported that Tehran regularly announces military advances that cannot be independently verified. Iranian media outlets report that Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems in recent years.
Since 1992, Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes.
