Activist Ata Karimi detained in Urmia
Araz News: On Sunday, June 7, 2015 agents from Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, commonly referred to as Etelaat, unlawfully entered the home of Azerbaijani activist Ata Karimi in Urmia city and proceeded to conduct a warrantless search of his home and belongings. He was then arrested and taken to an undisclosed location.
Etelaat agents confiscated Karimi’s personal belongings, including his books and computer.
Within the past couple of days, activists Ali Azizi, Sina Hasani, Ghulam Gholizadeh had also been arrested in Urmia.
Thus far, the whereabouts of the activists remain unknown and no information about the causes of their arrests have been released.
