Enemy failing to sow ethnic discord in Kurdistan: Leader

Araz News via Kurdpress: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the enemy has failed in its attempts to create ethnic and religious discord in the Kurdistan province.

The remarks were part of the Leader’s written statements read out at a congress commemorating Muslim Kurdish Peshmerga martyrs which was held Monday in the city of Sanandaj, the capital of western Iranian Kurdistan province.

In his statements, the Leader underlined that enemy conspiracies to cash in on “ethnicity” and “religion” to make the Kurdistan region insecure have been to no avail.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in his comments that anti-revolutionary elements spared no effort to foment insecurity in Kurdistan in the early years following the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran, but Muslim Kurds put their lives on the line to keep the enemy at bay.

The Leader also appreciated the sacrifices made by Muslim Peshmerga Kurds to counter the enemy, Press TV reported.

“The enemy will not sit idly by, and will, as much as it can, use the many security, propaganda and financial tools in its possession to bear animosity,” the Leader’s statements read.

The enemy seeks to fuel religious divisions and to drive a wedge between Shiites and Sunnis, read the Leader’s statements, which also highlighted that some individuals fall for enemy conspiracies out of ignorance.

The Leader further urged vigilance against the enemy’s divisive plots.
