Araz news: “The elections will harm the efforts toward a lasting and peaceful resolution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh”.

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on the “parliamentary elections” to be held by the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh, the occupied region of Azerbaijan.

The statement says:

“It was reported that the “parliamentary elections” will be held on 3 May 2015 in Nagorno-Karabakh region which is under occupation of Armenia for more than twenty years. The elections, which clearly mean the violation of international law, UN Security Council resolutions and the OSCE principles, will harm the efforts toward a lasting and peaceful resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We condemn this step that means a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and don’t recognize these illegitimate elections. As a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, Turkey will continue to support efforts aimed at finding a fair and lasting solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”.
