Sanctions are coming

After the Washington administration withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement, which the US wanted to renegotiate, Donald Trump announced the embargo on Iran’s oil exports by a poster on Twitter.

American President Donald Trump’s share of his statements on Sanctions on November 5 was re-shared thousands of times in a short time. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier that he would bring a temporary exemption to 8 countries that imported the most oil from Iran. Including a detailed explanation as to which Turkey is a registered this exemption is to be held tomorrow. Temporary exemptions are expected to last up to 6 months.

After Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the agreement, the US Treasury Department announced that sanctions against Iran would be reinstated by two 90- and 180-day sanctions. Within this scope, the first sanctions came into effect on August 7 after 90 days. With the end of the 180-day deadline of the US Treasury Department, the second stage sanctions started on 5th of November at 08:00.

According to the US Treasury Department, the sanctions, which began on 5 November, consist of 6 items.

At the beginning of the article are Iran’s port operators, shipping and shipbuilding sectors. The sanctions cover the companies such as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Shipping Lines, the Southern Shipping Line and the relevant organizations.

The second article of the sanctions of the Ministry of Treasury is oil-related transactions. Sanctions, including organizations such as the National Oil Company of Iran (NIOC) and the National Tanker Company (NITC), impose international restrictions on the purchase of petroleum, petroleum products and petrochemical products from Iran.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in a statement he made in May after the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, stressed the need for a new agreement with Iran and introduced a 12-point requirement.

What are the 12 items?
The conditions that Pompeo expressed were as follows:

1 – Iran should fully disclose the military aspects of its previous nuclear programs to the International Atomic Energy Agency (UAEA) and leave its work as permanent and verifiable.

2- Iran should stop uranium enrichment and never use plutonium again.

3- Iran must give unconditional access to the IAEA to facilities throughout the country.

4- Iran should stop the production of ballistic missiles and stop the nuclear missile launch and development.

5 – Iran has to free the citizens of all US and partner countries that it has arrested on false charges.

6 – Iran should withdraw its support for all a terrorist groups in the Middle East, including Hezbollah, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement.

7. Iran should respect the sovereignty of the Iraqi government and allow disarmament, liquidation and reintegration of Shiite militias.

8- Iran should interrupt the military support of the Houthi militias and work for a peaceful political settlement in Yemen.

9- Iran should withdraw the forces under the command of Iran in all of Syria.

10 – Iran must stop their support to Afghanistan and the Taliban and other terrorists in the region and should stop hosting Al Qaeda.

11- Iran should interrupt the support given to the terrorist and militant partners of the Revolutionary Force.

12- Iran should stop its threatening behavior against its neighbors, many of which are US allies, Israel and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
