TABRIZ, South Azerbaijan

Araz New via Gunaz Tv News: An Iranian state-run television station has reported on the football protests in the city of Tabriz.

A number of protests have erupted throughout the city as security forces continue to crack down on popular dissent. Incidents of injuries resulting from clashes with the police are being reported. Scores have so far been arrested.

Conspiracy theories remain abound as many protesters believe that the Iranian Football Federation conspired to prevent Tractor Sazi from winning the championship.
