Araz news: “These procedures cannot influence the process of negotiations”.

The EU reminds that it does not recognize the normative frameworks of the ‘parliamentary elections’ announced by the unrecognized Nagorno Karabakh republic and considers that they won’t help to define the future status of the region.
According to Oxu.Az, the statement came from spokesman for the head of the EU diplomacy.

“In the light of reports about ‘parliamentary elections’ in Nagorno Karanakh on 3 May we remind that the European Union does not recognize the constitutional and normative frameworks in which  they are held. These procedures cannot define the future status of Nagorno Karabakh and influence the negotiation process”, the communiqué says.

The EU noted that it supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and its co-chairs, aimed at overcoming the status quo and start peace talks.

“The EU is ready to make other efforts on support, aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict”, the statement said
