İmprisonment for taking photo with flag of Azerbaijan

A South Azerbaijani young man has been jailed by Iranian judiciary because of taking photo with flag of Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mohammad Tamaddon a young man from Urmia city and some other young people were arrested by Iranian police when they were taking photo with flag of Republic of Azerbaijan during a sport match in 2013.
Iranian judiciary accused them of “making propaganda against islamic regime and supporting seperatist groups”.
Mohammad Tamaddon had been sentenced to six months in prisons and a few days ago he was sent to sentral prison of Urmia, capital of the West Azerbaijan province to serve his term.

The chauvinist religious regime in Iran which is based on Persian – Shiite fascism put big pressure on non-Persian and non-Shiite communities and applies unfair punishments on right activists of them.
