Araz News: NROA’s First Secretary Davud Turan wrote an open letter to Mohsen Rezai, Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran.

In response to an address made by Mr. Rezai to people of Azerbaijan, Mr. Turan, in an open letter emphasized that the Turkic Nation of South Azerbaijan always is ready to fight and struggle, this time not for benefits of Iran and the Islamic regime, but for its own rights.

Due to a commemorating ceremony for martyred Azerbaijani commanders of Iran-Iraq war, last week Mr. Rezai had made an address to people of Azerbaijan. In his address he claimed that a new “Ashura” is on way and the brave people of Azerbaijan should be ready to fight again for the benefits of Islam, Iran and the Islamic regime, pointing to the martyred Azerbaijani commanders of Iran-Iraq war.

He intended the events of Iraq and that the Sunni rebellion against Shiite-led Baghdad government which threats interests of Iranian Islamic regime in the region.

NROA’s First Secretary Davud Turan stated in his open letter that:

“Of course Azerbaijan has a long history of braveness and sacrifice. Azerbaijan had fought many times for Islam and for its own believes and values. Today Azerbaijan is ready to fight again if it is necessary, this time not for benefits of Iran and the Islamic regime, but for its own rights. Azerbaijan will not fight for the Iran which is become a prison of non-Persian peoples.

Those martyred Azerbaijani commanders you mentioned would not fight alongside you and for your values if they knew finally you will destroy their homeland and their people by persecution, discrimination and racism.

Azerbaijan had sacrificed many of its bravest heroes for Iran but all gained is destruction of its culture, economy, history and civilization.

Be sure if those martyred commanders were alive today they were not beside you but beside their own people, defending their homeland’s rights.

And as a fact of today, you may want to know that many Azerbaijani commanders and officers in Iran’s security and armed forces do not believe in your and Islamic regime’s values anymore and you will see they will stand beside their own people when it is necessary.”
