Abbas Lesani Is Not Allowed To Communicate And Phone Calls
Araz News: Mr. Abbas Lesani, well known National activist of South Azerbaijan has been deprived of the right to communicate and telephone calls.
Abbas Lesani, who spends his sentence in prison in Shiraz was transferred to green row and deprived of the right to communicate and telephone calls.
This national activist was transferred from Ardabil prison to a prison in Shiraz city last week.and, Prohibitions and sanctions imposed on him which is causing concern his family.
Mr. Abbas Lesani was first arrested during a protest against the drying of Urmia Lake in 2011 on trumped up charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “the formation of a group that poses a threat to national security.” When he was released, Lesani refused to attend the trial since it was not open to the public. He then wrote a letter to the court invoking Article 168 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, which states trials must be open to the public.
Amnesty International, the Association for the Defense of Prisoners’ Rights, and various human rights organizations have made numerous statements over the years oh his behalf and addressed concerns about the mental and physical stress that he has endured defending the rights of ethnic Azerbaijani-Turks in Iran.
